Jason Piccioni is an independent visual effects supervisor, recently establishing Critical Films+FX for visual effects management and supervision, as well as the development of original content.
Jason began his visual effects career in the early 90’s at Dream Quest Images, participating in the company’s transition into the digital realm by assisting in the conversion of optical printers into some of the first film scanners. After leaving Dream Quest, Jason spent the next 10 years at Cinesite Hollywood and Warner Bros. Animation, working on such films as Erin Brockovich, Thirteen Days and X-Men 2, as a visual effects artist and supervisor.
Jason has worked repeatedly with various production companies, including Broken Lizard and The Polish Brothers, on recent features such as The Dukes of Hazzard, The Lake House, The Astronaut Farmer, Beerfest, and Invasion.
Jason recently completed The Warrior’s Way for director Sngmoo Lee and producer Barrie Osborne, delivering over 1400 vfx shots over a 14 month production and post-production schedule based in New Zealand.
